Statistics on mental illness in Australia indicate that our mental health is deteriorating at a rapid and concerning pace. In fact, 45% of Australian adults will experience mental illness; and mental illness is now the leading cause of healthy life lost. For instance, up to 50% of depressed people go undiagnosed. This results in the mental illness progressing further than necessary, making treatment and recovery significantly more complicated. It is absolutely crucial to equip ourselves with this practical knowledge so that we can provide appropriate support to our friends and family members who needed it the most. You may save a person's life when you know what to do at the right time, especially in an emergency/critical situation.
